Arcata has experience designing and installing a wide variety of communications infrastructure. We have integrated systems using HF, VHF and UHF radio for voice and data transmission, as well as digital and analog microwave links in the 1GHz to 22GHz range. We also have experience upgrading digital microwave backbones with fiber optics to increase the throughput. The fiber optic links allow high-speed data and digital video to share the same fibers in a wide area (asynchronous transfer mode) ATM network.

For NASA, Arcata provides turnkey services including the development, implementation and on-site field support of systems ranging from simple roll-about video conferencing systems to large immersive multimedia conferencing facilities. Large facilities are developed in 3D virtual reality allowing the Customer to review room layout and color schemes before the room actually exists. Our support also includes training and documentation.

We provide operator services including directory assistance, maintaining customer data bases, publishing telephone directories and handing all telephone number assignments. In addition, we manage and respond to trouble calls and provide system set up and training.
