On September 1, 2010, Arcata's NSSC United Way Team received a United Way of South Mississippi Pacesetter award at the 2010-2012 Fall Campaign Kick-off Meeting held at the Hard Rock Arena, Biloxi, MS. Arcata helped to "set the pace" by completing its first annual campaign in July and raising over $1,275. Together the nine Pacesetter award recipients, which included Target, Inc., D'Iberville, Hancock Bank, and The Law Firm of Balche and Bingham contributed over $300,000 in campaign funds either through payroll deductions or lump sum donations. Maria Etheridge, Arcata's NSSC United Way Campaign Chair commented, "As always, NSSC Arcata employees are always front and center and United Way is just another avenue for us to shine and set the pace!!!" Allan McCaleb, VP Program Development and Operations said, "Congratulations to everyone involved in this year's campaign. Thanks to you all for taking the lead on getting the United Way program started this year and doing an outstanding job by being selected as a Pacesetter awardee. This is another great example of the Arcata NSSC group giving 110% to everything that they are involved with."
