Arcata Receives US SBA Region IX
Prime Contractor of the Year Award
Arcata Associates, Inc. was named the 2006 Region IX Prime
Contractor of the Year by the US Small Business Administration.
The announcement was made on February 22, 2006.
This annual award honors small businesses that have provided
the government and industry with outstanding goods and services
as prime contractors. Only federal agencies may nominate a small
business for the award. Kevin Petersen, NASA Dryden Flight Research
Center (DFRC) Director; Robert Medina, NASA DFRC Small Business
Specialist; Don Shehane, NASA DFRC Research Facilities &
Engineering Support Services (RF&ESS) Contracting Officer
Technical Representative; and Louann Beu, DFRC RF&ESS Contracting
Officer nominated Arcata for the award. Currently, Arcata provides
engineering, operations and maintenance, information technology
multimedia services to NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center
as the Research Facilities and Engineering Support Services
(RF&ESS) contractor. Arcata was selected among all nominees
in SBA Region IX which covers Nevada, California, Arizona and
Hawaii.
Prime Contractor of the Year nominations
are judged on the following criteria: overall management, technical
capabilities, cost performance, resource utilization, financial
strength, delivery performance, labor relations, special achievements,
customer interface and exceptional results. Regional winners
are eligible for the national award, the US SBA Prime Contractor
of the Year Award. This Award will be announced during National
Small Business Week (April 12-13) in Washington D.C.
