Arcata Golf Tournament Raises over $8,000 for Boys and Girls Club!


Arcata and Lockheed Martin, Title sponsors, present a check for $8,191 to the Youth Programs Center – Boys and Girls Club, Edwards AFB

Arcata Associates, Inc. held its 2nd Annual Community Connections Golf Tournament on, Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Muroc Lake Golf Course, Edwards, AFB, CA and raised $8,191 for the Youth Programs Center – Boys and Girls Club at Edwards AFB. In the spirit of bringing the community together, the tournament included 104 golfers representing NASA, contractors, corporate sponsors, Desert High School, and local businesses, organizations and residents from around the area.


The Winners were:

“We want to thank this year’s Title sponsors Arcata and Lockheed Martin as well as the many other sponsors who made this year’s tournament a success including our Gold and Silver sponsors: Jenkins Athens Insurance Services, SAIC, ABD Insurance Services, Great West Retirement Services, and AS&M,” said Arcata Tournament Director and RF&ESS Program Manager, Jim Tilley. “I also want to thank all the volunteers for making this tournament the best yet,” continued Jim Tilley. This year’s Tournament offered over 70 raffle prizes and the opportunity to win $10,000 for a Hole in One. In addition, each participant received a team photograph, an embroidered golf shirt and goodie bag.

“Giving back to the community in which we live and work has always been a strong corporate value at Arcata. As one of the largest contractors at Dryden Flight Research Center, Arcata chose the Youth Programs Center – Boys and Girls Club to be the beneficiary of the proceeds. This organization promotes and enhances the development of boys and girls by offering programs which instill a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence,” said, Anthony Ng. Executive VP, Arcata.

Arcata President Tim Wong, commented, “the Tournament was a fantastic success, and we look forward to continuing to support and bring the community together through events like these.”
