Arcata goes "Back To School" to help students at the Fletcher-Miller School

Arcata's Orion employees in Lakewood, Colorado (near Denver) have adopted the Fletcher-Miller School for special needs children as one of their community projects. David Rogers, Arcata's Orion Site Manager, describes Fletcher-Miller as a public school that "serves students from pre-school through high school with special physical, emotional and medical challenges. A large percentage of the students are restricted to wheel chairs, but all have some degree of disability including hearing impaired and blind students."

The Arcata Orion staff spent over 30 hours painting swing sets and pulling weeds to get the playground ready for the new school year. In addition, the Arcata Orion staff, Our Savior's Church, and Arcata Associates donated enough money to purchase five tables that enable one staff person to more easily feed up to four students at a time.
