Washington, D.C. - Deputy Administrator Fred Gregory presented the agency's Minority Subcontractor of the Year Award to Arcata Associates, Inc. for its outstanding performance on two communications contracts at Marshall Space Flight Center.

"Arcata was selected because of our performance as a subcontractor on Lockheed Martin's Consolidated Space Operations Contract (CSOC) and Computer Sciences Corporation's (NYSE: CSC) Program Information Systems Mission Services (PrISMS) contract", said Arcata President Tim Wong. "Lockheed Martin and CSC have recognized our outstanding work and nominated us for this award. For NASA select Arcata from the hundreds of subcontractors that support the agency is a tremendous achievement."

Arcata provides program management, engineering, operational, and technical support for video and voice teleconferencing services throughout the agency under the CSOC contract. Under the PrISMS contract, the company provides television and interactive multimedia, photographic imaging, and audio-visual services to NASA Marshall. Lockheed Martin's nomination emphasized the critical role Arcata plays in NASA communications. They noted Arcata's development of a concept to provide centralized end-to-end video and voice services called the NASA Collaborative Infrastructure (NCI), and the Company's ability to attain exemplary availability and maintainability scores for video and voice teleconferencing across the NASA agency. They also highlighted Arcata's ability to save NASA almost two million dollars annually.

"This agency-wide recognition is reflective of Arcata's significant contributions to Lockheed Martin Space Operations for CSOC in support of NASA's mission," said Grady S. Jobe, vice president of Lockheed Martin Space Operations.

CSC's nomination included glowing praise for Arcata's accomplishments and extremely high performance scores from NASA monitors in addition to the company's outstanding technical performance, safety, and customer communications.

"Arcata has raised the level of professionalism and quality we expect from our subcontractors," said David E. White, a CSC vice president. "NASA's selection of Arcata as Minority Subcontractor of the Year further validates Arcata's superior performance and their many outstanding contributions to the PrISMS Contract."
